Description:
For our second ride in this series let's go to Mt. Vernon. Leaving from the LBJ Memorial Grove off the GW Parkway the ride should be about 32 miles round-trip. Most of the ride will be along the Mt. Vernon Trail. There's a nice bakery on Union Street in Old Town that we can stop at on the way down or on the way back or both (yum, hot chocolate). If the weather doesn't cooperate I may reschedule the ride for another day in December. Trip fee is $2.00. Meet in the parking area closest to the marina (NOT the parking area next to the footbridge) and plan to depart from LBJ Grove at 10:30 AM. As always I would appreciate notification from you if you're planning to come on this ride. That way I can contact you if I need to modify or cancel the ride. You can notify me via Meetup RSVP, email, or phone.
